Artwork must portray Georgia nongame (not legally hunted, trapped or fished) wildlife and plants. The entries are judged at the local school level in four divisions (#1 – Kindergarten, #2 – first & second grades, #3 – third and fourth grades, #4 – fifth grade). Winning entries in local contests are then to be mailed to the Botanical Garden for entry in the state level competition. Entries must be received by Friday, March 27, 2013 for inclusion in the state level judging.

Celebrate the Holiday season with friends and family at the State Botanical Garden. Our tropical conservatory will be filled with seasonal décor and holiday music created by the Georgia Children’s Chorus, the Solstice Sisters, and the Classic City Band. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available to listen to children’s wishes, with Mark Parsons Photography taking photos (cash or check only for photo orders, please.) Puppet shows will mesmerize young children while teaching them about nature.

Deep South Mushroom Co. will show you how to have a continuous supply of delicious oyster mushrooms. We will supply all materials. You will learn how to inoculate pasteurized wheat straw and cottonseed hulls, colonize the substrate and fruit the baskets right at home!.
