Dennis Krusac of the USDA Forest Service will speak about The Greater Atlanta Pollinator Partnership. Global pollinator populations are in decline for a variety of reasons including habitat loss and pesticide use. The Greater Atlanta Pollinator Partnership (GAPP) was initiated in 2009 because of the rapid loss of habitat and increase in pesticide use caused by the housing boom of the 1990s and early 2000s.

Stop by the Columbus Botanical Garden and let a guest artisan show you how to create your own custom-made hypertufa container. Using a mix of cement, peat moss and vermiculite/perlite, participants will take home a piece of art that is sure to be the highlight of your garden! This workshop will get messy, so be sure to wear old clothes! Also, participants are required to bring rubber gloves, a large garbage bag and a mold or form such as a plastic Rubbermaid container.
