Daffodil Day returns to Atlanta’s historic Oakland Cemetery on March 2. Celebrate the impending arrival of spring with a day filled with beautiful displays, garden experts, and fun activities for all ages in Oakland Cemetery’s Victorian gardens. Daffodil Day is free and open to the public.

Atlanta Orchid society show

The Atlanta Orchid Society show is at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. Saturday afternoon can be crowded. Remember that admission to the gardens is now $24 for each adult / $21 per child plus $2/hour parking. The orchid show is free once you get inside. Make sure you take time to see the greenhouses and grounds but the At.O.S. show is in Day Hall. The A.B.G. has ‘Orchid Daze’ several weekends but the AOS show is only on this weekend. 6 vendors and up to 20 exhibits.

Gail Zorn, owner of Daybreak Flower Farm, 3605 Claude Brewer Road, Loganville, Ga. 30052, is known to many of our members through her work with Gwinnett Tech Horticultural School and our installation of an iris garden. She has worn many hats since growing up in Savannah; advertising, software, accounting, teaching and horticulture. While at Gwinnett Tech she was Greenhouse manager/Campus Horticulturist.
Today she pursues her dream of farming with 1 acre of seasonal flowers and perennials.

Gardening enthusiasts are invited to meet a living legend. Dr. Michael A. Dirr, a nationally renown Professor of Horticulture now retired from UGA, will literally explore the ABC’s of plants, sharing what he considers some of the best plant selections for GA gardens. Dr. Dirr has received numerous awards and honors, most recently the Liberty Hyde Bailey Medal from the American Horticulture Society. Potluck dinner @ 6:30, presentation begins at 7pm

Floor & Decor brings you the Atlanta Home Show March 22-24, 2019 at the Cobb Galleria Centre. Produced by Marketplace Events, the Atlanta Home Show will feature hundreds of home improvement exhibitors, live radio broadcasts, product demonstrations & presentations by experts including HGTV’s and DIY’s Clint Harp. Walter will speak March 24 at 1 p.m. and will broadcast live March 23 from 6-9 a.m. Tickets: $10. Free for children 12 & under and seniors 65 & older with ID.
