Athens, Ga – The 34th annual Public Open House at the UGA Trial Gardens will be held on Saturday, July 9th from 9am to 12pm. The Public Open House is an event for people of all ages and everyone is invited.

The trails at the Botanical Garden offer so much to discover at night, especially during summer—come see the lightning bug display in June and July, search for glow worms and phosphorescent fungus, and hear the frogs, cicadas, and katydids. Each walk will focus on a different topic and we’re sure to discover magical moments each month! Bring family and friends of all ages and be prepared to hike up to 2 miles on our wooded trails and in the garden. Pre-registration is required.

A Garden with Wings: Butterflies and Biodiversity, a Smith-Gilbert Gardens exclusive butterfly exhibit, will open to the public on July 30th through September 10th. Visitors will have the opportunity to view the wonder of 6 species of butterflies including Gulf Fritillaries, Monarchs, Painted Ladies and Swallowtails in a complete ecosystem.
