The 2015 Georgia Master Gardeners Association State Conference, which is open to the public, will be held in Dahlonega this fall. The schedule for the conference is filled with notables. Sharon Collins from Georgia Outdoors fame will be speaking, along with Kip McConnell from Southern Living & Georgia’s own, Walter Reeves. Also included on the schedule are four amazing breakout workshop sessions and wonderful Marketplace Vendor Shopping, selling numerous varieties of plants & gardening items.

AAS Backyard Wildlife Sanctuary Tour

Atlanta Audubon Society (AAS) will host its annual Backyard Wildlife Sanctuary Tour on Saturday, Sept. 19 from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM. The tour will feature properties in Decatur, Ga and other areas on the east side of Atlanta.

Tickets may be purchased online at beginning in August 2015. Tickets are $15 for AAS members and $20 for non-members. All proceeds will support the education and conservation efforts of Atlanta Audubon Society.

Our September concert features Arvin Scott will bring jazz to the Garden. Dr. Scott teaches at the Hugh Hodgson School of Music at UGA, and will feature a full combo for the concert. Jazz singer Marti Winkler will open the show. Bring a picnic basket, spread a blanket, kick off your shoes and enjoy a summer evening outdoors with family and friends. Concert moves indoors in wet weather.
