This course will introduce students to the wonderfully diverse natural vegetation of Georgia, emphasizing basic ecologi cal principles of plant distribution, prehistoric and contemporary influences on Georgia vegetation, major vegetation types in Georgia, and common plant species that characterize each vegetation type. We will also discuss invasive species and their impact on natural plant communities, rare and endangered species in Georgia, and potential human and climate change influences on the vegetation of Georgia.
