Q: Can I cut my overgrown azaleas back? And, if so, how much?

A: The best time is in early spring, even though you’ll cut off most of the blooms. I cut my scraggly five-footers down to 18 inches in February two years ago and they are thriving now….four feet tall and covered with flowers this past spring.
