Blueberry – No Fruit

Q: I bought four varieties of blueberry last year. They all had fruit then but they had none this year. What could have been the problem?

A: If you had a late freeze this spring, the cold weather could have knocked off the blooms before they were pollinated. The more likely explanation though, is that the plants put most of their energy into making new growth and none into fruit production. This often happens to young fruit trees. If the plants are well cared for this year, you’ll be rewarded next summer.
