Caterpillar- Books

Q: We just moved to the Atlanta. Could you tell me the name of the caterpillar book which you mentioned on the radio while discussing caterpillars that sting? I think some of my grandchildren would enjoy it since they’re always looking at bugs, insects, etc.

A: The grandkids might like the inexpensive Golden Guide “Butterflies and Moths” (St. Martin’s Press, $6.95) but the book I’m enjoying so much is “Caterpillars of Eastern North America” (Princeton University Press, David L. Wagner, $29.95). If they really like identifying insects, the “Field Guide to North American Insects and Spiders” (Knopf, $19.95) is full of color pictures and easy to use.
