Farmers Almanac- Rain Prediction

Q: Did the Farmers Almanac predict all this summer rain?

A: I don’t think this will go down as their finest summer for prognostication. Their predictions were for April and May rainfall to be below normal. Despite a promised tropical storm that would bring heavy rain in mid- to late July, rainfall was augured to be near normal. Looking forward, the Almanac says “Expect a hurricane in early September. Otherwise, temperatures and precipitation will be close to normal in September and October.”

Despite the failed forecast, they have a fascinating article on how one can predict the weather using a pig spleen at The Old Farmers Almanac.  (BROKEN)
