Garden- Starting Advice

Q: I am a fourth grade teacher in west Cobb county. Most of my students have little real experience in gardening. I would like to establish a garden at our school in which I could share my love of plants as well as teach science, math and valuable environmental lessons. Any advice?

A: Do you know about the Environmental Education Alliance of Georgia? Their 2005 Georgia Outdoor Classroom Symposium will be held in Cobb county on October 13 – 15. Get details at www.eeingeorgia.org. They have lots of information on making outdoor classrooms on small budgets. You can also contact the Cobb Extension Service (770-528-4070) to ask if Master Gardeners would like to help with your project.
