Tree – Cabling Limbs

Q: This tree is just a teenager. Do you think this engineering will carry it to manhood? Two branches have already fallen before I did this patch.

A: I admire your engineering ingenuity….but I wouldn’t park under your tree.

The turnbuckles and screweyes are too small to support the weight of limbs. They are also not placed properly along the length of the limb.

Certified arborists spend many hours in a classroom learning how to estimate limb weights and wind loads.

If you really want to keep the flowering pear, hire an arborist to install the cables and bracing.
