Notes:

Persistent growth that starts in mid-spring and persists through early fall. Concentrated in an area about 25 yards long, spanning mulched area and hill with tall grass (3rd photo). Some small groups seem to be growing out of the base of a dogwood tree, but its leaves resemble those of another tree in the yard (ash?). Continues to spread, with no effective way to curb them.

I think you’re right! I just looked up pictures of the mature tree, and we may have a couple of them in our yard nearby. Thanks!
