Caterpillar Identification Books

Q: We just moved to the Atlanta. Could you tell me the name of the caterpillar book which you mentioned on the radio while discussing caterpillars that sting? I think some of my grandchildren would enjoy it since they’re always looking at bugs, insects, etc.

A: The grandkids might like the inexpensive Insects: Revised and Updated (Golden Guide) but the book I’m enjoying so much is Caterpillars of Eastern North America: A Guide to Identification
.

If they really like identifying insects, the National Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Insects and Spiders is full of color pictures and easy to use.
