Notes:
This grew in my friends garden. We have no idea what it is. You can see his hand in the first picture and that the leaf is pretty large, maybe 10″ – 12″ across.

Compare with papaya. Sadly, papaya dies with the killing frosts… and the fruit generally needs just a bit longer frost free weather to ripen. Maybe you could rig a temporary shelter?
