What a beauty! I’ve heard them called Candy cane Azaleas.

Thanks Bobby, it is a beauty and pretty hardy plant i’ve moved it about three times in the 17 years since i’ve had it with no problems.

I sent it to Patricia Collins at Callaway Gardens, who gave it to Kathy Crye, Callaway Horticulturist.
Kathy sent it to Ken Gohring who sent it to Joe Coleman, both from the Oconee Chapter of the Azalea Society. Joe thinks it is ‘Ben’, or ‘Benjamin’ which is a sport of an azalea called ‘Ben Morrison’.
It’s a beautiful flower!
