One regional lawn service reports Quackgrass as a problem weed in NW Arkansas lawns. Jonesboro is across the state in the NE but I’m not sure Quackgrass read the can’t grow here memo.
USDA reports the weed’s distribution does include Arkansas.
Being a West Georgia boy I’ve not seen Quackgrass as a persistent weed issue here but I am familiar with it. It can be confused with tall fescue but it is not to common in central W. Georgia. I am thankful for that because compared to fescue as a weed in bermuda grass Quackgrass is a beast. It is very persistent to control in cooler climates.
Compare what you are seeing with Quackgrass: Elymus repens.
