Notes:

Walter,
I seem to get several of these patches in my Bermuda lawn every year. Usually during the summer months. Don’t know if it is bugs, or fungus.

My lawn is on a hill, but I have a sprinkler system. I only water, in early morning.(5am) Can you tell me what you think this might be, and how to treat it.

This was just taken, but is the result of last summer.

Round sunken spots in a bermuda lawn during spring transition often indicate a disease aptly named Spring dead spot. Check out this previous post to Walter: http://www.walterreeves.com/gardening-q-and-a/bermudagrass-spring-dead-spot/

The resiliency of bermuda grass can be a strength if you want it around forever, or a curse if you’ve decided to get rid of it!
