Notes:

This thing chased my wife across our back deck and into the house, and then landed on my grill. I haven’t seen any kind of nest, and this is the only one we have seen. My wife is severely allergic to wasp/bee/hornet stings, and you can see in this picture that the stinger is almost half an inch. We looked online, but haven’t found anything to tell us what this is. Any help you can give would be appreciated. Thank you! Michael
