We saw this plant at the park in downtown Blowing Rock, NC. It was covered with butterflies. I would like to know what it is and if it will grow in metro Atlanta.

We saw the exact same clump of flowers, smothered in butterflies, at Blowing Rock in late July. We thought it was some sort of Ligularia due to size of foliage and time of bloom.
