I am wanting a Pyarmid shape tree with a base no more then 10 feet and upto 40 feet tall. I notice this tree a lot by entrances and planted close by and wonder if it is a cedar deodar? If so it how big are they expected to get in GA?

I have a very large cedar tree in my yard. I would like to trim the lower branches. Should I wait until it sheds its foliage in the late fall or is it OK to trim it earlier?
