Notes:
I ordered hot pepper seeds from Amazon and many weeks later, the seeds arrived from China. Once the seeds germinated and matured, this did not look like a typical pepper plant to me. It had a few small purple flowers on it, which have grown into dark purple fruit, about the size of a large grape. This plant is probably pot-bound and may have grown larger with proper care. Considering the mystery as to what it is, I didn’t feel compelled to nurture it. Can anyone identify it?

Thanks Laura. I believe you’re right. Going by the leaf shape, flowers and purple fruit, it is most certainly an eggplant. Lesson learned: “Only buy seeds from reputable seed vendors!” I’ll pamper this little plant now and see if I can get an eggplant from it!
