I have been given this plant as a Christmas present and told that it can go out in the garden.
The leabes are oval , about 4cm in length. leaves are dark green and glossy, new leabes are red.It has small red berries.
Please identify and tell me the conditions in which it will flourish.

Are the berries added as decorative items and not actually part of the mystery plant?

I believe Daisy has, as we say in the South USA, busted this thang wide open. I think wintergreen, gaultheria procumbens, would certainly fit the growth requirements for a nice compact Christmas plant gift.
Earth to Walter, what think ye on the matter?
