Notes:

Leaves are similar to Dogwood but lack the white/pink spring flowers.

    It is probably a different species of dogwoods (Cornus). Sorry, I don’t know which one is yours. You can try the Leigh County Agricultural Center Mater Gardener program to help narrow down its ID. Google link below to show some of the species of the Cornus genus.
