Notes:
This grew on it’s own in our back yard. Grew fast and healthy. Thought the leaves looked like zucchini but shape of plant is wrong. Please let me know what you think.

Seeing them (paulownias) everywhere. I retract – probably hollyhock, as Witchazel says.

It is a paulownia tomentosa – an invasive tree from China, known as Empress tree, Princess tree, Royal Paulownia, etc. It has pretty purple flower clusters when it’s mature enough, but they become clusters of unattractive, junky looking shells after they fade. Generally not a desirable plant to have around, in my opinion, and they spread persistently.
