I just noticed these within the last week.. About 15 sq feet of my yard is covered in weird fluff.

Cemetery weed! That’s what I called it the first time I saw it. It was trying to crowd out the residents of a local cemetery. I soon learned another name I liked. Trampweed. It wasn’t too particular where it went. Facelis is another name for this variety of Cudweed and, you’ve got it! http://www.walterreeves.com/gardening-q-and-a/trampweed-facelis-retusa/

Thanks for identifying the pest weed that is trying to take over my lawn. I will try to arrange a meeting between the facelis and one of the weed killers for sometime this fall.
