dark 4″ long green waxy leaf, tiny white flowers, fragrant in October in Midtown yards the photo is of a dried leaf picked in October 2010. Smells like a cross between jasmine and mock orange

Your description sounds like Osmanthus, but the subject of the photo is a little crispy. Do a Google search for Osmanthus or Tea Olive, if it doesn’t look like a match, take a photo of the plant and re-post.
