thought it might be a sunflower, but no buds. seen something similar around a road. did not plant it.

I just checked the leaves again–they are not waxy, not really fuzzy, but more furry–reminded me of velvet. Looking at the link you sent, though,I believe you’re right. thanks much!!!

When I hear the words “giant” “volunteer” (or “fast”) I usually think of Paulownia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paulownia But the leaves don’t look fuzzy in your photo – are they?
