Steve is the name of a plant that started growing in my front yard maaaaaybe 4-6 months ago. He has a woody stem and big heart shaped leaves. I have no idea what he is and I’d really like to know.

If you allow Steve to grow, he may reward you with beautiful clusters of purple flowers, but I’d agree you probably don’t want him quite so close to the driveway. He may also put up shoots all around that have to be dug up or plucked, but they do come out easily,.

Steve aka Paulownia tomentosa. Steve and his family are prone to grow large quickly. Imagine Steve on steroids in 3 – 4 years. Steve, what have you done to my driveway? Move Steve to the back 40 acres and that would be gracious for some would say put Steve out of your misery ASAP.
