Notes:
Hello, I recently bought a house in North Georgia with a sloped/ tiered backyard. On the top section of the yard are 2 of these bushes. I have no idea what they are if when it would be safe to move them. The “flower” with long red spindles (I included a picture but unfortunately the blooms had already dies and is now black). Any idea what this is? How much sun does it need?

Looks like a type of Mahonia. Sorry, I can’t be certain of which species or cultivars this is. Dues to your plant’s rangy form and the racemes. Maybe you want to check out the Leatherleaf mahonia (Mahonia bealei), the Mahonia media and some of its cultivars like ‘Winter Sun’, ‘Arthur Menzies’ etc. The amount of sun is depending where you are located on the USDA Plant Hardiness Zone Map . link below for transplanting plants. Best wishes! http://www.walterreeves.com/landscaping/shrub-transplanting/
