Notes:
I’d like to save or see if there is intervention needed. The tree has beautiful leaves and provides great shade to my backyard. It started showing signs of illness 2 or 3 years ago. It has black oozing marks on the upper limbs that don’t seem to be harming but has you work you way down the branches to the trunk it seems the bark is peeling and underneath there is scar tissue forming. You can literally peel the bark off like it’s rotting. Any ideas are appreciated!
