    It will be hard to tell without flowers. I’m guessing only, perhaps something from the bigleaf hydrangea group (Hydrangea macrophylla)? Most in this group blooms on old wood. According to the included link below, hybrids blooming habit also could be different from the species. If this specimen was mine, I would let it grows to see where on the branch/stem flower buds are formed, whether on new wood or old wood. For now check out these included links for more information on bigleaf hydrangea. Again, I’m only speculating. Best wishes!
