Notes:
Last year I tried to have this small tree identified without success. This year it is blooming after we had some trees limbed up so it can get more sun. My mother received it as a cutting or seedling from a friend of hers in the late ’90s. Can anyone help?

The tree is a spring blooming tree, Chionanthus retusus or Chinese Fringe Tree. It is related to our native Grancy Gray Beard – Chionanthus virginicus.
