Notes:
This tree or shrub was collected along a creek near the Chattahoochee river near Jones Bridge Park. There are many of these growing wild. Many are tall and very slender, but some have been cut back and are thicker in the trunk. I am considering using them for bonsai but don’t know the name. They have leaves all year round. email me at maxxkatt77 at sign yahoo.com if anyone knows the name of this native tree or shrub.

Thanks to Bobby and spatialdrift! I looked at the link and yes it must be Chinese Privet. It grows in abundance along a creek flowing into the Chattahoochee river. I am using it to practice my limited bonsai training skills. John

Looks like and sounds like Chinese Privet. I’ve not had any luck with bonsai but I’ve got a feeling you wouldn’t need much luck with Chinese Privet! http://plants.usda.gov/plantguide/pdf/pg_lisi.pdf
