Invasive plant

« Back to Name that Plant

Notes:

This plant was originally in a hanging pot. It spreads like wildfire, comes back every year, likes shade, partial shade or full sun; grows 4′ tall if not whacked down a few times during the summer and gets somewhat of a bloom on it in the fall.

I’ve dug it up, moved it, given it away, planted it in bad soil, planted in where it gets full sun and no water and still it comes back! Talk about HARDY and INVASIVE!

Please, NAME THAT PLANT! Thanks!!

Whoever you gave that to must have passed it along to me next before I became educated about perennials. I’m from Zone 10 and was clueless. One of the worst “gift plants” anyone could give is this terribly invasive curse. It’s an artemisia of some sort.

@Nancyhfrga, thanks for the info. This sounds like a black sheep in the Asteraceae family! Nothing like a mother’s day pot full of that stuff. Beware all mums!

Hi Bobby, it’s a spiky growth with tiny white flowers. Tell me how and I’ll send you a photo.
    thanks!
