Notes:
This plant recently came up under my bird feeder. It resembles a gourd plant. The white flowers open late afternoon and evening. The spines are very sharp. It will not have time to fully mature before our first frost

I do think it is a gourd. Leaf and flower would lean that way. May be a bottle gourd. One distinct feature of gourd flowers is the musky odor. Any scent?
