Notes:
A gentleman gave me this plant and said the leaves could be used in a tea. It is about a foot tall, does not flower but has beautiful healthy leaf structure. It has sort of a mellow aroma when near its leaves. It loves water

THANK YOU! I have been trying to find out what this was. Like I said a man gave this to me as a cutting and it started growing. I actually like the greenery. But he was a very nice man from China that said the leaves were very good for you in a tea for anything that ails you. Now that you have given me the name I will check to see what you can do with it. Yes, it is in a separate container. At first it was not doing well but found out is was the tap water that was the problem. Now since switching my water source it is thriving.

Dokudami, fish mint… (Houttuynia cordata). I’d definitely keep it in a container… that stuff can over-run a flower bed… Have you made tea with that stuff yet? Apparently people eat it… both the above ground parts and the underground stolons. I should probably try one of the recipes… Don’t know any other way to be rid of the stuff… Or maybe I could try it as an herbal remedy.
