Notes:

I saw these trees along the south side of I-20 near MLK in ATL. Looks like a near perfect variety for a living Christmas tree in front of my house. Nice shape. More open and better branches than a Leeland. About 35′ high. If you don’t know what it is, can you suggest a variety? A California Christmas tree looked nice, but topping out at 45′, it’s a little too high to light and decorate.

These look to be Deodar Cedar (Cedrus deodara)Take a look at http://www.ces.ncsu.edu/depts/hort/consumer/factsheets/trees-new/cedrus_deodara.html. These specimens look to be healthy but the tree is prone to getting a tip borer that will cause it to loose that classic Christmas tree look. Also, they get huge, though slowly.
