Appreciate the feed back Jahangir Satti! It is so interesting to learn about the 3 different Pahari languages, thanks to your lead. But when Googling, the translation for medicinal plant ‘hundred roots’ it shows a different plant Asparagus racemosus (Shatavari) instead. The ginseng group has palmate leaf. The opposite leaves seems to point toward the Apocynaceae for now. But I’m only speculating. Could you make new post with close up photo of its flowers? Best wishes Jahangir Satti!

Thanks Laura. The language is Pahari, is very old language. In fact some words are shared with European languages. The meaning of so pamberi is hundred roots. It may be similar to gin sing family, I do not know.

Could you give a close-up of the flowers? It would help narrow down its genus. Seed pods can also help quickly if you have them. Western Himalayas spoken languages are so diverse, please tell us which ethnic groups dialect “So-Pamberi” is from. For now, only a wild guess here, maybe something in the Apocynaceae family? Thank you and best wishes!
