Notes:
These 2 plants are growing in a suburban Philadelphia garden (Zone 8) and are apparently self seeded since the owner (20 years) did not plant them. They are apparently perennials and reappear each year

The open flower has no smell now but I suspect that it has been pollinated so the smell has gone. The other two flowers have not yet opened so do not smell. The appearance of the plant is exactly like the photographs of the Voodoo lily I have now seen online. Thank you so much for the information.

Looks like a Voodoo Lily – how does the flower smell? Voodoo Lilies do not smell pleasant.
