Ground level, what looks like an opened pod of something. It’s dried and hard. We didn’t notice any mushroom-like tops before the opened pods. There is something that looks like dust or powder in the center. We have not noticed these in prior years, just this year. The edges are pointed and black.

This guy looks like he’s the remains of a puff ball mushroom. Now, if you ask him, he would probably deny being a mushroom and claim to be a real ‘fun guy’.
