Notes:
This plant is appearing for the second year from my compost bin. I thought I knew what most plants look like from fruits and vegetables that we eat. It has very large leaves at least 8 inches long, much bigger than my hand, the stalk is very thick and strong about 1 1/2 inches diameter and is spotted with purple. There are about four of them coming out from the pile so it is not just one pit or seed that has sprouted. We are out in the country so who knows what could blow in. Ideas?

Yep,I think you’re right. Never thought of papaya, I don’t think it will survive long enough in north Ga. to bear fruit tho and gets too big to bring in little house. Thanks, Marte

Looks like Carica papaya, Papaya. Hopefully it will stay warm enough in your area to get fruit.
