Notes:
I have this shrub growing next to my house that was planted by the previous homeowner. It has small clusters of green berries that are turning pink. Can anyone tell me what this is?

The clustering of the berries resembles Beautyberry (Callicarpia), but the species I know here in Georgia doesn’t have long-stemmed leaves like your picture.

That is a beautyberry. It’s also called American Beautyberry and American mulberry. You’ve probably noticed that it has a bit of a weedy habit. It likes to be watered in the summertime but will tolerate some drought. For the most part, if you don’t drop a match on it after dousing it in lighter fluid you have nothing to worry about, except for squirrels eating the berries and happily reseeding it all over your yard.
