Thanks for the help – I talked to someone at Brookgreen gardens and they said it was a “Brookgreen Black pepper” – they called it that because it was cultivated there. I think it was a blend of Black Pearl round and pointed varieties.

More info – The bush is 2.5ft tall and the berries are 1/2in in size. Leaves are black with purplish tint.
