Notes:
I think I posted this earlier on accident. This wild plant was growing in my backyard. It is in total about 5 feet tall, and looks “tropical”. It was growing in a marshy, wet area around a patch of cattails. I dug it up and planted it in my garden, seems to be doing fine. I live in a temperate climate, if it helps. The flowering part feels like an orchid flower, and the petals curl up at tips to form a tipi sort of structure. Thanks for any help

Looks like Lilium pardalinum ssp. vollmeri; Vollmer’s Lily, Leopard Lilies. http://www.botany.hawaii.edu/faculty/carr/ofp/lil_par.htm
