Notes:
My mother in law lives in Magnolia Manor Methodist Assisted living and no one seems to know what sort of tree this is. The nut pods are light green and smooth and the leaves are large and dark green. The trunk is light colored and the bark is not too rough. This tree is approx 50′ tall and the base of the trunk is approx 24″ diameter at 3′ from the elevated root ball. Several roots are exposed, but only close to the trunk.

Looks like paulownia to me. Compare to pictures at http://plants.usda.gov/core/profile?symbol=PATO2. Aggressive invasive.
