Notes:

Many of these are popping up around my yard. They have a very large white root. Grow very rapidly. Would like to know what they are, and where they are from. Thanks. Jim

I think it looks a lot like the elephant yam (amorphophallus paeoniifolius) that the person from the Phillipines recently posted…. http://www.walterreeves.com/name-that-plant/weird-plant-2/ Search “amorphallus” it’s a fairly extensive family of plants.
