Looks like a wild cherry. I think black cherry is the correct common name of the tree. It’s the favorite food of a fuzzy wuzzy caterpillar called eastern tent worm! Aren’t you lucky. http://www.ganondagan.org/hiking/trees.html#BCherry

Why not? It produces fruit that is great wildlife food and the tent caterpillars are also great wildlife food. My wild cherries haven’t gotten tent caterpillars in twenty years. I have three that are no problem.
