Notes:
Tree is presently just over 6 feet. Flowers somewhat resemble spirea. Fragrance is not totally offensive, nor is it compelling. Tolerable. (Dry and dusty smell?)

Thanks,stone Viburnum rifidulum seems a very likely candidate. My concern is that the foliage on my specimen is dull, not glossy. Will try to provide a better photo. Sorry.

I had a similar shrub bloom last spring… I think I missed it this year. I tracked it down as a blackhaw viburnum (Viburnum rufidulum). See mine here: http://gardens-in-the-sand.blogspot.com/2014/04/april-flowers.html Your specimen seems to match the typical results on google better than mine….
