Maybe a species in the Malpighia genus. I am guessing, this might be the Barbados cherry- Malpighia emarginata. There is some confusion between M. emarginata and M. glarba. Link below with details on the differences of the two. http://www.lsa.umich.edu/herb/malpigh/MalpClade/Malpighia/Malp1.html
